2010 was the inaugural season for the New Year’s Eve event in downtown Durango. We wanted the event to be about the season, family, celebration of winter, art, and music. A first night celebration. The inspiration for the design came from the Mexican folk art of Papel Picado. I wanted the design to be bold and graphic, reminiscent of the southwest and very modular.
