LED KITCHEN GARDEN BY SONNY LIGHT

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Get your bag of seed starter out- it’s time to plant! While it is the middle of January and Mother Nature has left us with no less than 8 inches of fresh snow outside last night, a lucky few us get to get our hands in the dirt. SonnyLight has received its first shipment of  LEDKitchenGarden and LEDGrowGarden grow lights. They look smart, are green, are easy to use and best of all inexpensive to run due to the LED technology. And, we are particularly fond of the logo.

I don’t know about you, but having a garden ripe tomato with fresh basil in the heart of winter borders on being scandalous. And I intend to jump whole heartedly into the veggie bacchanal!

THE GARDENS AT JAMES RANCH

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

For those of you who prefer not to wait for the yummy goodness of fresh picked produce, The Gardens at James Ranch is now producing small batches of specialty delights with the fresh picked bounty from their gardens. The Black Currant Jelly is the first in what we hope to be a long line of more mouth watering tastiness. This jelly will be available at their booth at Durango Farmers Market starting this month.

We designed the label using a painting by Jami Tobey, and ultimately this will become the colorful face for this ever growing line of limited edition fresh products.

DURANGO WINE EXPERIENCE, 2009

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

It’s that time of year again. Durango Wine Experience is upon us beginning April 30th, signaling the start of spring here in Durango. Some of us look to the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, others… new wines to try. This years poster design bows down to the rich saturated colors of velvet brocade and a traditional letterpress printing. We sought to highlight elements from our old western town of Durango, embrace them and spin them in a new way.

Speaking from experience, I highly recommend the event. Whether you attend a seminar beefing up your cocktail talking points or roam, walk or stumble around downtown for the Friday night moving tasting, there is sure to be a little something for wine enthusiasts of all varietals.

HOME GROWN FESTIVAL – Insider Ale

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The Home Grown Festival in Durango Colorado was a hit last October. One of the highlights of the event was the pressing of local apples collected by students from Fort Lewis College that have been turned into beer brewed by the Bootleggers Society which is made up from the 4 local breweries (Ska Brewing, Durango Brewing , Steamworks Brewing and of course Carver Brewing Co.) in our fabulous town.

The beer is now available on tap at all the breweries for a very limited time and will also be available at the local liquors stores starting on Tuesday February 3rd. All proceeds from sales at the liquor stores will help fund next years Home Grown Festival.
